British developers will create their own cheap analogue of the Ukrainian long-range Palyanitsa missile

The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain has announced a tender for the development of a new long-range weapon within the Brakestop project. Weapons must be effective in the conditions of modern warfare, cheap and suitable for mass production, informs Defense Express.

The main purpose — creation of a cruise or ballistic missile, or a drone capable of hitting ground targets at a distance of 600 km with an accuracy of up to 30 meters, even in conditions of active radio-electronic warfare (EW) and without the use of satellite navigation.

< strong>Weapons must be launched from a ground platform and carry a warhead weighing 200−300 kg. The cost of one sample should not exceed 400,000 pounds (approximately 535,000 dollars). Prototypes should be ready for testing by the second quarter of 2025, and series production — to start in September 2025. Initially, it is planned to produce 20 units per month with further scaling of production.
