Brandon Metallic's exact sentence will be known at a later date. The case will return to the New Carlisle courthouse on April 18 for formal sentencing submissions. Relatives of the victims will later be able to testify to the impact that the events of May 15, 2021 had on their lives.
They did not wish to grant an interview to the media on Wednesday.

Me Frappier-Routhier indicated that Brandon Metallic has not requested, to date, a pre-sentence report, a document generally produced by a probation officer and which serves to guide the judge in imposing the sentence. Metallic will nevertheless be informed of this possibility by the friend of the court, Me Ariane Cayer. The lawyer was appointed by the court to ensure the smooth running of the procedures and respect for the individual's rights since he represented himself alone.
During the trial, 22 witnesses were called to the stand by the Crown. Only six of them were cross-examined by the accused.
