The trend of moving away from oil and gas towards renewable energy sources is not yet very relevant for Russia, but it is important to take it into account, says Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov. “It seems to me that those countries and companies that do not have serious reserves of hydrocarbons are talking about this more. For us, in my opinion, this is not very relevant yet. Although one cannot ignore the main trends and tendencies that, in fact, the energy balance is beginning to shift towards renewable sources, “Borisov said in an interview with the Vesti on Saturday program with Sergei Brilev on the Russia-1 TV channel.
“I think that for the next 20-30 years these are very controversial and harsh statements, tendencies that, for example, planes will become all electric, although we need to look and think in this direction, and deal with hydrogen technologies and technologies using new sources. But it seems to me that for our country, which is rich in hydrocarbons, we need to think about the optimal use of our capabilities, “the Deputy Prime Minister said.
