Jair Bolsonaro , former president of Brazil, plans to extend his stay in the United States while the investigations against those who participated in the attacks on the headquarters of the three powers on January 8 progress, and in the midst of demands for him to be extradited and answer to the authorities for his role in what happened.

A group of businessmen from São Paulo who sympathize with the former president have met in recent days to pay for his stay in the United States, where he traveled on December 30, thus avoiding being in Brazil for the inauguration of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The central issue is financial, according to Bolsonaro's allies consulted by Folha de Sao Paulo, For this reason, the possibility of organizing a series of conferences is being considered.–at $10,000 each– with American businessmen, one of whom Bolsonaro would have promised to teach.

There is strong opacity about how the stay in the United States is being paid for Unidos de Bolsonaro, who is staying in the house that the mixed martial arts fighter José Aldo has in Orlando, in the state of Florida.

His close circle has recommended that he open an account at the Banco do Brasil branch in Orlando in order to access the funds he has in his country. Bolsonaro now has a monthly salary of around 8,100 euros for having been a deputy and retired soldier, although the Liberal Party (PL) has promised him another salary, which could reach up to 7,400 euros, but on the condition that he return.

Bolsonaro's presence has not been without setbacks –such as when he had to be admitted for recurring abdominal painas a result of a stabbing attack as a candidate in 2018– and controversial, after several Democratic congressmen called for President Joe Biden to be ousted.

The legal question of his stay is also in question, since his status as head of state ended two days after arriving in the United States. If you intend to stay longer, you should apply for a business or temporary work visa, or a tourist visa, which would give you another 90-day extension.
