Boeing cuts aircraft deliveries by a third in second quarter

US Boeing cut deliveries to 92 commercial jets in the second quarter, compared with 136 in the same period of 2023. This is stated in the company's press release.

Despite a 32% reduction, the figure was better than in the first quarter, when deliveries amounted to 83 aircraft.

In June, Boeing delivered 44 aircraft to customers, which was the best monthly performance of 2024. However, this is 10% lower than last year's figure (49 aircraft).

In the first half of 2024, the company delivered 175 aircraft to customers, including 137 737 liners. Last year, the figure for the first quarter was 266 airplanes.

Boeing shares are down nearly 30% since the start of the year, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average stock index is up 4.3%.

European aerospace corporation Airbus SE has handed over to in the first half of the year, 323 aircraft for 65 customers – by 2% more than in the same period last year. Delivery in June was 67 liners, which was also the best monthly figure in 2024.
