In the engine compartment of the BMW 128ti there will be a 2.0-liter “turbo four” with 265 horsepower, only front-wheel drive. The abbreviation ti (Touring International) was often used 40-50 years ago to denote sports versions of the 02 series auto, then it spread to some other models of the concern. The new addition to the brand's lineup will sit between the 118i and the charged five-door M135i xDrive. At the moment, the final tests are underway on the Nürburgring track. The power plant of the vehicle is paired with an 8-speed “automatic” Steptronic Sport and a mechanical limited slip differential of the Torsen type.
Also worth noting are the new M Sport suspension, Performance Control and a re-tuned steering. The car will be on sale in 2 months, but the cost is still kept secret.
