Blinken had a long conversation with the Israeli Prime Minister

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to Israel as part of his Middle East tour and held a long conversation with him, CNN reports.

Blinken's meeting with Netanyahu lasted more than two hours.

The US Secretary of State and the Israeli Prime Minister met in a small and large group for more than two and a half hours, with most of the time spent in a small group.

According to journalists traveling with the Secretary of State, the leading American diplomat is now meeting with Netanyahu's key ally Ron Dermer.

Blinken, who is on his way to The US diplomat's 11th visit to the region since the war began last year comes at a critical time, as Israel plans its expected response to an Iranian missile attack and talks on a ceasefire over the war in Lebanon and Gaza appear to have stalled.

The US diplomat's visit also comes at a time of tense relations between the US and Israel.

The US has threatened to halt arms supplies to Israel unless the humanitarian situation in Gaza improves.

Additionally, a recent leak of US intelligence data on Israel's military plans could further escalate tensions.

The top-secret documents, dated October 15 and 16, have been circulating online since Friday and were originally published on the Telegram platform by an account called Middle East Spectator.

The leak comes as Israel completes weeks of preparations for a retaliatory strike against Iran, which has launched a salvo of ballistic missiles at Israel October 1st.
