Bitcoin soars to new record high amid Trump's announcement of US crypto reserve

Bitcoin has reached a new record high of over $106,000. This was made possible by the statement of President-elect Donald Trump, who expressed the idea of creating a national Bitcoin reserve by analogy with the US strategic oil reserve. This is reported by forex.ua with reference to Reuters.

Bitcoin, the world's leading cryptocurrency, rose to a record high of $106,533, before stopping at $105,688. Ether rose nearly 3% to $4,014.

“We're going to do something big with cryptocurrency because we don't want China or anyone else – not just China, but others – to take it – and we want to be the leader,”, – Trump said in an interview with CNBC.

When asked if he was going to create a cryptocurrency reserve similar to oil, Trump replied: “I think so: “Yes, I think so”.
