P American billionaire and philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has definitely turned the page on a divorce that caused rivers of ink to flow – that of Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon and one of the richest men in the world – and has married a science professor at the Seattle institute where his children attend. Together with Dan Jewett, her new spouse, the philanthropist hopes to allocate most of her fortune, which Forbes magazine recently estimated at $ 53 billion (about 44.45 billion euros), to projects and social causes. of those plans in a letter published on the website of the non-profit organization The Giving Pledge, which brings together the largest fortunes in the country, from Bill Gates to Warren Buffet or Mark Zuckerberg, and which forces its members to donate most of their assets. “I am grateful for the exceptional privilege it will be for me to contribute to donations that do so much good when shared,” wrote Jewett as a partner in his wife's humanitarian efforts. She has already changed her profile on her Amazon page: “She lives in Seattle with her four children and her husband, Dan.”

Soctt was married to Bezos for 25 years and after their divorce, in 2019, he obtained 4% of Amazon shares. In a statement, the tycoon has praised his ex's new husband: "Dan is a great guy, and I'm happy for both of them," he said, quoted by The New York Times . Jewett himself, who teaches classes at an exclusive center that counts Bill Gates among his former students, corroborated how lucky he feels on The Giving Pledge website: “I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know, and I join her in the commitment to allocate her enormous wealth to help others ”.
