'Bear's head' found on Mars
The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, which is exploring Mars from its orbit, sent a photograph to Earth, which shows a relief that looks like a bear's head.
The picture was taken on December 12, 2022 from a height of about 250 kilometers.
As scientists explained, the photo shows a hill with a V-shaped collapse structure (“nose”), two craters (“eyes”) and a circular crack ( “head”, which could appear due to subsidence of sediments above the filled-in crater.
The diameter of the “head” Martian "bear" is about two kilometers.
When we see the "bear" on Mars or “Jesus” on bread, this phenomenon is called pareidolia. This is the human ability to see a face or other objects in everyday things.
