BC Hydro is encouraging British Columbians to prepare for weather-related power outages as it releases a report saying the worst storms experienced by the province have occurred in the last five years.

BC Hydro says it measures the severity of a storm based on the damage caused to its network and the number of outages suffered by its customers.
