CAIRO (Reuters) – The Iraqi federal government has asked the Kurdistan Region government to cut oil production by 120,000 barrels per day, the minister said Wednesday, quoted by the Iraqi state news agency INA.
Domestic oil consumption in the semi-autonomous region of Kurdistan is 30,000 barrels per day, according to INA, citing regional minister Khaled al-Shawani in charge of relations with Baghdad.
Baghdad and the Kurds are discussing several scenarios for an agreement to cut production, al-Shawani said.
