The prices of Austrian government bonds were mostly lower in late trading on Friday. The yields increased in almost all maturities, only that of the 5-year benchmark bond remained unchanged. That of the trend-setting ten-year Austrian benchmark bond rose by 3 basis points to -0.23 percent.
The yield spread over the comparable German bond was 19 basis points.
The publication of the Michigan Sentiment was eagerly awaited at the end of the week.
The consumer confidence surveyed by the University of Michigan fell 2.8 points from the previous month to 76.2 points. This is the lowest level since August 2020. Economists, however, had expected an increase to 80.9 points.
Consumer expectations have deteriorated noticeably.
