Australian Open: Nadal ensures in the first round and reassures

World number two Rafael Nadal made his entry into the Australian Open by easily defeating Serbian Laslo Djere (56th), 6-3, 6-4, 6-1 on Tuesday, taking less than two hours (1h53 ) his qualification for the second round.

The Spaniard, who had reported back pain and did not participate in the ATP Cup last week, reassures his physical condition as he seeks to beat the record for Grand Slam titles in Melbourne, which he co-owns for the moment with the Swiss Roger Federer (20 titles each). The second round should be a formality for him: he will be opposed either to the Serbian Viktor Troicki (202nd), or to the American Michael Mmoh (177th), both from the qualifications.
