Aurélie Bérubé pleaded guilty to charges of assault and aggravated assault on Friday at the Amos courthouse. The former childcare manager had inflicted severe injuries on a child who was 1 year old at the time of the facts.

The alleged facts date back to January 2019. It took more than two years after the events, in November 2021, before the Major Crimes Investigation Division of the Sûreté du Québec made the arrest of " Aurélie Bérubé.

During Friday's hearing, the 35-year-old woman, who now lives in Senneterre, admitted the facts summarized in a written document. These facts were not made public before being placed under seal for the judge who will eventually have to determine the sentence.
