President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan met in New York with American businessman Ilon Musk. They discussed the billionaire's possible investment in the Turkish economy.
The meeting took place within the framework of the UN General Assembly.
"President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX in New York. In light of the launch of… Tesla products on the Turkish market, Erdogan called on the company to open its seventh factory in Turkey,” the Office of the President of Turkey reported.
Ilon Musk met with the Turkish leader with his the son of XÆA-12, whose short name is Lil X. Erdogan asked Musk where his wife was. He replied that they divorced in San Francisco, so he takes care of his son.
Erdogan invited Elon Musk to the Teknofest technology festival in Izmir, talked about the concept of Digital Turkey and the national strategy in the field of artificial intelligence. The President of Turkey also proposed cooperation with SpaceX in the field of space research.
BAGNET reminds, in August Tesla expressed interest in the construction of a factory for the production of inexpensive electric cars in India. Now Tesla has six factories. Seventh enterprise – in Mexico, it is under construction.
Ilon Musk said that Tesla will choose a country for the construction of a new plant by the end of this year.
