According to the authors of the work, the mass of black holes can be colossal, reaching 100 billion from the sun or even more. If such gigantic regions are discovered, it will be possible to better understand the nature of black matter. Scientists agree that supermassive black holes are located at the center of the vast majority of galaxies. Their mass in millions or even billions exceeds that of the Sun, and that is 332.9 thousand times more than the Earth.
Now the largest of the known black holes is the quasar TON 618. Its mass exceeds 66 billion from the sun. Scientists wondered whether there are larger regions in the Universe, and whether there is a limit to their size. The study showed that black holes may well be 100 billion times more massive than the Sun, but this cannot be called an extreme point. However, so far there is no confirmation of the existence of these regions in space-time.
