Artem Dovbyk became the top scorer of the Spanish La Liga championship

26-year-old Ukrainian football player Artem Dovbyk was recognized as the best scorer of the season in the Spanish championship. The attacker chose this title after the last round, in which all his competitors played.

Ukrainian Artem Dovbyk – striker “Girona” – became the top scorer in the Spanish La Liga in the 2023/24 season. The corresponding award was presented by the Spanish newspaper Marca.

Artem Dovbyk, who spent his first season in the Spanish La Liga, scored 24 goals in the season as part of Girona. He was ahead of the main competitor, the Norwegian Alexander Serlot from “Villarreal”, by only one scored goal. Two players with 19 goals each closed the TOP-3.

Dovbyk managed to win the battle for the best scorer of the season thanks to a hat trick in the last round – the Ukrainian scored three goals and surpassed Serlot, who had distinguished himself in poker during the previous tour (four goals). In the last round, the Norwegian was injured and finished without scoring.

Artem Dovbyk – the second Ukrainian in the history of the European top-5 championships, who became the best scorer at the end of the season. The first was Andriy Shevchenko in the Italian championship for Milan (seasons 1999/00 and 2003/04).
