A new batch of 15 malicious apps containing SpyLoan – software that steals personal data – has been detected and removed from Google Play. Apps with the SpyLoan virus have been downloaded 8 million times on Google Play. This is reported by BleepingComputer.
The applications, which are spreading in South America, Southeast Asia and Africa, attract users with promises of quick loans, and then ask for bank details, SMS, location and contacts. The most popular were Pr&eastamo Seguro-Rápido and Pr&eastamo Rápido-Credit Easy (over 1 million downloads).
