New iPhone SE will be shown in 2025/iLounge
Budget iPhone SE from Apple is preparing for a major update. The fourth-generation model is expected to enter the market in the spring of 2025.
The future model will be significantly different from its predecessors. It will inherit several functions from the higher-end iPhone, while maintaining its position as the most affordable new model in the Apple line, writes MacRumors.
According to the latest reports, the iPhone SE 4 will have a design that resembles iPhone 14, with a larger 6.1-inch OLED display. This is a significant increase over the current model's 4.7-inch LCD screen and brings the SE line on par with Apple's flagship devices in terms of display technology.
< p>The move to OLED displays is part of Apple's broader strategy to phase out LCD displays in the iPhone lineup. This change will affect long-standing suppliers such as Japan Display and Sharp, which mainly supplied LCD panels for previous SE models.
In terms of performance, the iPhone SE 4 is rumored to feature the A18 chip, which debuted in the iPhone 16 series last month. The device is also expected to switch from Touch ID to Face ID, marking the end of the iPhone's physical home button.
Other notable updates include:
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000- A USB-C port that will replace the Lightning connector.
- Action button, a feature introduced in the iPhone 15 Pro.
- < em>A 5G modem developed by Apple.
- 48MP rear camera, up from the current 12MP.
- 8GB of RAM, double the current model's 4GB. >
The novelty is expected to receive an OLED display/Photos from open sources
Increasing the amount of RAM is especially important, because it will enableThe iPhone SE 4 will support Apple Intelligence, the company's suite of artificial intelligence features expected to roll out with iOS 18.1 later this month. This would make the SE 4 the most affordable iPhone capable of these advanced AI features (which last year's standard iPhone 15 models could not).
Despite these significant updates, Apple is expected to maintain the iPhone SE's position as a budget option . Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggests the device will likely cost between $400 and $500, like previous models.
As for the timing, several sources, including Gurman and an analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, point to a spring 2025 release. Given that all previous iPhone SE models were announced in March, a March 2025 launch seems very likely. Apple's suppliers are reportedly preparing to begin mass production this October, setting the stage for an early 2025 release.
