While the presentation of the iPhone 16 looked impressive, the reality turned out to be somewhat disappointing. It turns out that most of the promised innovations will not be available at the start of sales. The company modestly noted this in the fine print on its website.
Despite the new A18 chips, larger displays, camera control button and Apple Intelligence and Visual Intelligence features, unfortunately not all of them will be ready when the iPhone is released 16 Pro and iPhone 16.
Here's what won't work when the new products hit the market:
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000- Camera Control button: The main new feature of the iPhone 16 line, which will function only partially. Tap lock focus and exposure will be available later when Apple adds two-stop shutter capability.
- Updated Siri: Although it was shown back at WWDC, it won't be ready until September 20th. It's sad that Federiga's team couldn't implement animation before the release of new smartphones, leaving the neural network functions for later.
- Apple Intelligence: Although the company is betting big on neural network functions, only a part of them will be available in iOS 18.1 and 18.2 later this year, and the rest will not appear until 2025. This includes Genmoji.
- Visual Intelligence: An analogue of Google Lens using the Camera Control button on the iPhone 16, which will also not function at launch. There are no specific dates for its launch yet.
So the question of whether it is worth buying new iPhones at inflated prices at the very beginning remains open. Indeed, the first iPhones, built “from the ground up for AI”, as Tim Cook said, should come with all the promised features at once.
