An insider under the nickname yeux1122, who has not earned much credibility so far, claims that Samsung has faced difficulties in creating thinner batteries for Apple. According to him, the company is not able to provide new power cells until next year. If Apple dares to use existing technologies, the thickness of the expected iPhone 17 Slim (the name is not yet official) will be about 6 mm. For comparison, the thickness of the iPhone 16 Pro reaches 8.25 mm, and the usual iPhone 16 – 7.8 mm.

According to this source, Samsung faced the same problem when developing its thin flagship. At the same time, the existence of devices is known only thanks to rumors. So, the famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported on the thin iPhone back in October 2023.
