Apple may be preparing a new Magic Mouse to fix its most annoying flaw

Users of the last generation Magic Mouse were left dissatisfied with the product because it had a completely inconvenient location of the charger the port And while some mocked it by creating memes, others literally begged Apple to do something about it. Looks like they waited.

Analyzing the code of the upcoming iOS 18.1 update, programmer Aaron Parris found signs that the company is currently working on an update to the Magic Mouse. In addition, the Magic Keyboard and Trackpad will be released together with the mouse. MacRumors writes about it.

There is no confirmation, but here are theories

  • The upcoming accessories are expected to bring not only improved performance but also some design changes. The operating system code references the new versions of the accessories, but doesn't explain exactly what updates they will be getting.
  • Aaron Parris also says he found mention that the keyboard could have multiple versions , including options with Touch ID and digital blocks.
  • What we can say for sure is that the company will move its accessories to USB-C this time around , as Apple moves toward standardizing this charging port and moving away from the Lightning port for all of its devices.
  • Finally, everyone hopes that the manufacturer will listen to users and change the Magic Mouse so that the charging port is more was not at the bottom.

There is a possibility that Apple will introduce updated versions of the Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard along with the new Mac M4 model, which according to some reports could happen sometime in October. Given that Apple tends to release updated accessories at the same time as hardware releases, the introduction of updated accessories at this time is the most likely.
