Apple revises Vision Pro design after new competitors emerge

Apple, according to Bloomberg, is reviewing its strategy in the field of spatial computing after the release of new VR/AR glasses from competitors.

The company recognizes that virtual reality completely cuts off the user from the real world, while some competing models, offering AR experiences, use color cameras for a more comfortable interaction.

The Apple Vision Pro, in contrast, features an external screen that displays a virtual version of the user's face, allowing the user to see their eyes.

However, some competitors use holographic displays that are initially transparent, showing the eyes person without additional screens. This solution is considered more accessible and natural, which could increase sales.

Apple is now faced with the need to redesign the Vision Pro to realize a similar effect, which is a difficult task, given the release of an affordable version that is approaching in 2025 .
