Apple is preparing to introduce the thinnest iPhone in history

According to a new report by analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong Securities, Apple is preparing to introduce the iPhone 17 Air with a record thin body – only 6 mm.

This is 0.9 mm less than the iPhone 6, which has long held the title of the thinnest iPhone.

If the rumors are true, Apple engineers will make significant progress, especially considering on the difficulty of placing the battery and other components in such a narrow body.

For comparison, the thickness of the current iPhone 16 Pro is 8.25 mm, and the iPhone 14 Pro – 7.85 mm. Thus, the new Air will be much more compact.

The Air model will be the only one in the iPhone 17 line with a similar design. It will receive an aluminum frame, an A19 processor, 8 GB of RAM and a reduced Dynamic Island. However, the device will be equipped with only one main camera.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be a premium product priced above the Pro models, mainly due to its unique design.
