Apple plans to release a new version of the Mac mini, which will be the smallest desktop computer in the history of the brand. Radio Maxim tells what the updated device will look like.

This is the first significant change in the design of the Mac mini since Steve Jobs, writes Bloomberg with reference to sources.

The updated device, due this year, will be much smaller than its predecessor, approaching the size of Apple TV. At the same time, the body will remain aluminum.

In addition to the change in size, the new Mac mini is expected to receive at least three USB-C ports, a power connector and HDMI for connecting the device to TVs and monitors.< /strong>

Apple is preparing two versions of the new Mac mini. The first will have the basic M4 chip, the second variant will be more powerful and will receive the still unannounced M4 Pro. This component includes support for additional memory and more graphics power.

The company is also preparing updates for the iMac and MacBook Pro with new M4 chips, which should also be introduced this year. The MacBook Air models will arrive next spring, with the Mac Pro and Mac Studio coming in the middle of next year.

The massive upgrade to the M4 processor marks another milestone for Apple. For the first time, the company is installing the same generation of chips in all of its Mac computers. M4, which is already used in the iPad Pro, is designed to work with new artificial intelligence features that the company plans to launch later this year.
