Apple iPhone 17 Air may be thinner than the “flexible” iPhone 6

Thickness of the upcoming Apple iPhone 17 Air is known/mashable

Apple is reportedly set to release the iPhone 17 Air in September 2025. The device is expected to replace the Plus version, which has the least impressive sales in the current portfolio.

Initially, there were rumors that the phone would be called the iPhone 17 Slim. And now we know its thickness, writes GSMArena.

According to a report by Hong Kong investment bank Haitong, the iPhone 17 Air could be about 6 millimeters thick. If this is indeed the case, it will be the thinnest iPhone ever, even thinner than the iPhone 6 with its 6.9-millimeter body.

A lot of unknowns are still up in the air, pun intended, but we already have some details. The new iPhone should have a 6.6-inch screen and an A19 chip (vanilla variant, not Pro).

It may only have a single camera on the back, which may sound like a deal-breaker, but analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has already said that Apple is aiming to “emphasize innovative form factor design,” so don't expect flagship-level cameras like the flagships. We'll be keeping an eye out for new leaks and rumors, because the new iPhone 17 Air is definitely a gamble on Apple's part.
