Apple released a fix for the “ghost touch” problem on older Apple Watch models

The so-called “ghost touch” problem that affected the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 , probably touched some old models.

The problem, when the Apple Watch performs functions without the user touching the display, became known in February. Last month, Apple released updates for the two new devices, but said nothing about the older Apple Watch.

Now, on April 10, and a reliable source has reported that Apple is investigating the “ghost touch” for Apple Watch Series 7 and Series 8, as well as Ultra 1. Currently, to fix the problem on these older devices – at least temporarily – Users must force restart the watch by holding both buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds. You should also make sure your device has the latest updates.

Apple may release updates for older devices in the coming weeks models of Apple Watches, which will finally eliminate the problem with the “ghostly” by touch.

Some Apple Watch owners report the sudden appearance of extra letters when typing messages and even blocking smart – hours when trying to enter the access code. Random phone calls have also occurred due to ghost touch.

It is not yet clear what the cause of the problem is, although in it was reported in March that it could be related to the fact that the touch screen is activated due to static electricity from clothing. After the update Apple released for the Series 9 and Ultra 2 in March, the display apparently became less responsive.
