Apple has declared the latest iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle “obsolete”

Apple has officially added the iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle to the list of obsolete products worldwide. Repairs and other services for these devices are no longer available at Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers. According to the company's policy, a product is considered “obsolete” when seven years have passed since the device was last shipped.

Apple introduced the latest versions of the seventh-generation iPod Nano and the fourth-generation iPod Shuffle in 2015, and in In 2017, they were completely discontinued. After being recognized as "obsolete" the device is no longer repairable at an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider, except for the 10-year replacement period for MacBook batteries.

The iPhone 6 also joined the list of obsolete Apple products today. The company has already announced its bigger "brother" iPhone 6 Plus “obsolete” in April, but the smaller iPhone 6 remained available through resellers in some countries longer, making it “obsolete” only now.

Also today, Apple added the 2017 model 12-inch MacBook and sixth-generation iPad to its list of vintage products. Apple considers a device to be “vintage” if it has been five years since the company stopped selling it. Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers will continue to service the "vintage" products within the next two years, subject to the availability of spare parts.
