Despite the fact that Apple introduced the new iPhone 16 series on Monday, and pre-orders will begin already on Friday, the company has stopped production of some previous models. In particular, the iPhone 13, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will no longer be available at Apple's branded stores, although they can still be found at third-party retailers, and in some cases – with discounts.
This does not mean that owners of the iPhone 13, iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max should rush to change their devices. All three models will continue to receive iOS and security updates. In addition, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max support Apple's AI initiative, known as Apple Intelligence, so users of these models will have access to relevant features for several years to come.
This year, 2017 models such as the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X will lose iOS 18 support. The oldest iPhones to receive iOS 18 will be the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR released in 2018.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000If you're looking for an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, you should consider the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the new iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. All of these models have at least 8GB of RAM, which is the minimum required for Apple Intelligence to work.
Apple Intelligence will debut with the release of iOS 18.1 for the iPhone 16 line, expected in October. Additional AI features will be available with the release of iOS 18.2 in December.
Although the iPhone 13, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be discontinued, these devices will not become obsolete until 2031. They will be considered obsolete only seven years after the last release, which means the end of all hardware services and support.
However, before these models are considered obsolete, they may become vintage. This will happen five years after the end of production, during which time the devices can still be repaired if spare parts are available. From 2029 to 2030, the iPhone 13, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be considered vintage models.
I recently purchased an iPhone 15 Pro Max, and there is already talk that it will become vintage in a few years , and then completely obsolete.
