Appearance in court of the suspect Thursday morning

(London) The man accused of willfully mowing down a family with his vehicle in London, Ont., Killing four of his members, is to appear in court on Thursday morning.

Nathaniel Veltman, 20, has four counts of premeditated murder and one of attempted murder.

The victims of the car-ramming attack have been publicly identified by their relatives: Salman Afzaal, 46, his wife Madiha Salman, 44, their 15-year-old daughter Yumna Salman and the grandmother of the teenager, Talat Afzaal, 74 years old.

Salman and Madiha Salman’s son, Fayez, was seriously injured in the impacts, but his life will be saved.

Police said the attack was premeditated and targeted the Muslim community.

All Ontario government buildings flew their flags at half mast on Wednesday, the day after a vigil that saw thousands of people rally in solidarity outside a London mosque.
