What is known about the increase in the price of top Android smartphones

It is noted that the two key processors of the new generation, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Dimensity 9400, turned out to be significantly more expensive to develop and manufacture than their predecessors.

Analysts predict that due to this, the prices of top Android smartphones will increase by an average of 20%.

In particular, the Qualcomm development company plans to sell a new processor at a price of $190.

At the same time, the price of a MediaTek chip will be around $155.

It is known that both chips will be based on TSMC's second-generation 3nm process and will bring significant improvements in power consumption and performance.

Smartphones that will run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 include the Xiaomi 15, Samsung Galaxy S25 and OnePlus 13 series, as well as top-of-the-line Vivo and Oppo.

It is not yet known which future devices will be equipped with the new MediaTek chip.

It has already been confirmed that the Xiaomi 15 will be the first on the market to receive Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

The Chinese brand retains exclusive rights to first launch devices with the fresh Snapdragon. After it, OnePlus and iQOO can use this right.

Yes, the not yet announced Galaxy S25 Ultra with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor outperformed the iPhone 16 Pro on the A18 Pro. And the increase in performance relative to the Galaxy S24 Ultra is even more noticeable.
