The famous rapper Eminem (real name – Marshall Bruce Mathers III), whose life was previously saved by Elton John, was attacked. In April of this year, an unknown man made his way to the artist's home in Clinton Township, Michigan and threatened to kill the musician.
The incident became known after a preliminary court hearing took place, local media write.
On September 9, in Macom County Court, Police Officer Adam Hackstock, who came to Eminem's house in the spring, testified against suspect Matthew Hughes. The artist himself was not present at the hearing.
Matthew Hughes, who was charged with a felony, will be tried in district court on September 28, according to Twitter.
Earlier, Eminem told the police that on the night of the incident, he woke up feeling that someone was in his room. Seeing the man, the performer asked what he was doing in his house.
Hearing that the unknown was going to kill Eminem, the latter persuaded the intruder to leave, took him to the exit from the house, and handed him over to the guard. The musician clarified that Hughes did not have a weapon with him.
As it became known later, the offender got into the rapper's house, breaking a window with a brick. Hughes also referred to himself as Eminem's friend who lived nearby.
