An Internet fraudster who defrauded about two dozen people was convicted

In Kamianets-Podilskyi, a court sentenced an internet fraudster who defrauded about two dozen people

A 27-year-old resident of the Horodoch region exploited people's trust by selling non-existent goods online for real money. The police, having collected all the materials, sent the case to court and now the fraudster has already been sentenced — three years in prison.

Recall that in October last year, law enforcement officers announced suspicion of an Internet fraudster. The attacker posted information on the sale of used household appliances on a popular classifieds site. The fraudster's «assortment» included gas stoves, televisions, and washing machines. When buyers were ready to purchase equipment, the fraudster demanded full or partial payment for the goods, and after receiving the funds, he did not contact them.

In total, the fraudster defrauded 18 people from different regions of Ukraine.

Currently, the court has completed the consideration of criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 190 (Fraud committed through illegal operations using electronic computing equipment) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced the perpetrator to three years in prison.
