An app that turns any object into a LEGO set has gone viral online

A team of enthusiasts has introduced an application called Brick My World, which allows you to turn real objects into accurate Lego models. According to the authors, it will not only design a Lego model, but also provide step-by-step instructions for its assembly in PDF and LDR formats.

The application uses augmented reality technologies ARCore on Android and ARKit on iOS. It performs a 3D scan of the object, after which, with the help of AI, it turns it into a model divided into Lego bricks. To assemble small models, you will need approximately 500 parts, and for larger – several thousand, writes Newatlas.

To help with finding the right materials, the creators have also teamed up with the independent trading platform BrickOwl. Once your model is assembled from Lego, you can get the parts you need from this site instead of getting them from ready-made LEGO sets, which would be extremely expensive.

The project became a hit on the Kickstarter platform. Initially, the team planned to raise $5,000, but at the time of writing the number had already turned into $85,000. Early adopters are priced at $89 for a lifetime subscription, while a subscription will cost $199 per year at launch.

The developers promise that the application will be available to the general public in February 2025.
