Morocco has overtaken China, India and Japan by the number of cars exported to the European Union, Business Insider reported.
At the end of last year, 535 thousand cars were produced in Morocco, compared to 464 thousand the year before.
Last year Total exports of the Moroccan automobile industry reached $13.9 billion. The government hopes that by 2030, 60% of exported cars will be electric.
Morocco is a country in northern Africa, the capital is Rabat. It borders on Spain in the north, and Algeria in the east and southeast.
