Scientists from the American Stanford University invented innovative solar panels. They are able to produce electricity even in the absence of sunlight, for example at night.
This innovative approach solves one of the key problems in traditional solar energy systems, allowing for the expansion of continuous production of renewable energy. The basis of this technology is radiation cooling.

Scientists have invented an interesting way to use the temperature difference between the environment and the panels to generate electricity. Scientists have integrated a thermoelectric generator into conventional solar panels. As a result – the device can generate electricity due to temperature differences. Of course, this volume is small, but it means that the panels can produce electricity around the clock.
In addition, the developers note that the system was developed from readily available materials, which does not make new panels expensive and inaccessible. And the thermoelectric generator not only allows you to generate electricity at night, but also enhances the operation of the panel during the day.
And what is also important – to upgrade the existing panels, it is not necessary to buy completely new equipment, but it is enough to add thermoelectric generators. According to the plan, the new panels will be of interest to residents of regions with little sunlight, such as Alaska.
