American developers presented a hypersonic aircraft that approached supersonic speeds

XB-1 aircraft of the Boom company Supersonic set a new speed record during a test flight. The aircraft reached a maximum speed of 629 miles per hour (1 012 km/h), which corresponds to Mach 0.82.

It is worth emphasizing that such indicators bring the XB-1 closer to supersonic speeds.

This flight was an important step towards achieving Mach 1 speed, which would allow the aircraft to break the sound barrier.

Previously, the XB-1 set a speed of Mach 0.69, and this flight became the most successful.

The results of the flight will help develop the company's next project — supersonic passenger plane Overture, which should make air travel much faster and more efficient.
