The Californian company Skyryse has signed an agreement with the US Army to integrate autonomous solutions and reduce pilot training time for Black Hawk helicopters. The cooperation will develop a universal operating system for flights SkyOS, which will improve the safety, simplicity and efficiency of military aviation operations, reports Interesting Engineering.
SkyOS provides unique capabilities by combining expert software based on artificial intelligence and a modern fly-by-wire system. This allows you to turn any helicopter or plane into a universal piloting tool, simplifying the process of takeoff, flight and landing.
Skyryse emphasizes that SkyOS allows for intuitive controls, automatic engine start with a single gesture and dynamic protection during flight, which prevents potentially dangerous maneuvers. This technology also includes automatic hovering, implemented on fully serial aircraft in 2024.
Black Hawk helicopters, already an important element of the US Army's aviation fleet, will receive additional options, such as the ability to operate unmanned. This will significantly increase their versatility in difficult combat conditions.
The implementation of SkyOS is expected to change the rules of the game in military aviation, providing a safer and more efficient approach to the operation of aircraft and helicopters.
