Ukraine is considering no alternative but to obtain military aid from the United States to counter Russia, and is convinced that the aid program debated in Congress will be approved, Ukraine's foreign minister said Wednesday.

We don't have a plan B. We trust in plan A, Dmytro Kouleba said in an interview with CNN.

Ukraine will always fight with the resources given to it. And what is given to Ukraine is not charity. It's an investment in protecting NATO and protecting the prosperity of the American people, he added.

Dmitro Kouleba estimated that if Russia won, other leaders would be tempted to follow in [his] footsteps. Ensuring security in this part of the world and deterring these leaders will come at a much higher cost for the United States.

Ukraine's foreign minister says officials who suggest Russian President Vladimir Putin would never attack a NATO member state if Russia were victorious in Ukraine are making a huge mistake. They should change positions.
