Amazon successfully tests drone delivery vehicles in Italy

Amazon announced the successful completion of the first delivery using drones in Italy.

As Ukrinform reports, ANSA reports this.

During the test of this delivery method on Wednesday, the company used an MK-30 drone, which was supposed to deliver an Echo Spot smart alarm clock from Amazon in the Italian region of Abruzzo.

Amazon said that the MK-30 drone is equipped with a highly automated system that allows the device to move away from obstacles to ensure the safety of people, animals and property.

The drone weighs about 36 kilograms, has a flight radius of 24 km in both directions and can deliver packages weighing up to 2.5 kg (about 90% of Amazon products weigh less).

The tech giant plans to launch a drone delivery service in Italy next year.

As Ukrinform reported, the UK's national postal operator Royal Mail is using drones for delivery in the Orkney Islands in Scotland.
