Thursday night, in the Ohio club’s first game of the season, the former Montreal Canadiens representative was left on the bench for the last five minutes in a 3-1 loss to the Nashville Predators.
During his press briefing on Friday, the pilot was asked whether he had had a discussion about this with his skater. Tortorella simply replied “no”.
For his first game in the Blue Jackets uniform, Domi was on the ice for just under 13 minutes, making him the third least used striker by his coach. He was entitled to six appearances on the ice in the first period, six in the second and five in the third. The center player did not collect any points and ended his match with a differential of -1.
“I want more effort and more cohesion on the offensive. I can name you guys, but you know who they are, ”Tortorella said in particular during the press briefing following his club’s defeat on Thursday.
Remember that last October, the CH sent Domi and a third round pick to the Blue Jackets, in return for forward Josh Anderson.
Let’s say the latter made a better impression than Domi in his first game with his new team. Wednesday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Anderson hit the target twice.
