EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell welcomed the decision of the Kosovo government to postpone the plan to change numbers and passports for Serbs until September 1, Reuters reports.

" Expect all roadblocks to be removed immediately,” Borrell said.

He also stressed that European countries should continue to resolve all contentious issues through dialogue with the assistance of the EU.

According to Kosovo Online, the government of Kosovo has decided to postpone the application of the regulations on the replacement of car numbers and Serbian passports for 30 days, until September 1.

It is reported that with a request to postpone the introduction of new requirements U.S. Ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier addressed the Kosovo authorities in a meeting with President Vyosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

The government has said the postponement will only take effect if the barricades in northern Kosovo are removed already in the afternoon 1 aug mouth.
