The UK Home Office has announced that all police departments in the country will conduct checks on officers against a national database in order to identify unsuitable officers due to policemen admitting guilt in 24 cases of rape. This is stated on the website of the ministry.

48-year-old policeman from London David Carrick pleaded guilty to 24 cases of rape on 16 January. He was suspended from service in 2021 following a rape complaint. Before he was tested twice, and no charges were filed against him.

"The National Council of Police Chiefs confirmed that they would ask all police units to check their officers and other employees at national police bases" ;, — said in the message.

It is also noted that, by order of the head of the department, Suella Braverman, the standards for checking police officers will be tightened, and the procedure for resigning employees who do not meet the standards will also be simplified.
