The decision to deprive Elman Pashayev of the status of a lawyer, adopted by the Council of the Bar Association of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, was reacted by his opponent in the case of Mikhail Efremov, Alexander Dobrovinsky. The human rights activist said that he considers it unethical to comment on this situation.

Dobrovinsky admitted that he would miss a colleague who acted as his opponent, representing the interests of Mikhail Efremov in the case of a fatal road accident with his participation. The human rights defender was temporarily deprived of the status of a lawyer, therefore he will not be able to participate in such proceedings in the near future. However, Dobrovinsky does not consider it possible to comment on the decision of his colleagues. According to him, there was a trial, and some statements were made by the lawyer Efremov, who is the master of his word.
Information about the restriction imposed on Pashayev earlier was confirmed to the domestic media by the Federal Chamber of Lawyers. The council found signs of wrongdoing in the actions of the defender. The reason for considering the issue was the appeal of the Ministry of Justice, which considered some public statements during the consideration of the case of Mikhail Efremov inadmissible. It also became known that Dobrovinsky himself could be brought to disciplinary responsibility. True, there are no details about this yet.

According to unconfirmed information, the reason for depriving Pashayev of his lawyer status was his attempt to prove in court that Mikhail Efremov could not have been driving the car that provoked the fatal accident. After the verdict was announced (the actor was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony), the artist said that the lawyer had “set him up” and terminated the contract for the provision of Pashayev's services. The family of the convict hired new lawyers, they do not communicate with media representatives.
