Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Air Canada will suspend 17 international services, which will result in the temporary layoff of 1,500 unionized employees.

An unknown number of executives will also be affected, the carrier confirmed by email to the QMI Agency on Tuesday.
It’s measures will come into effect on February 18 and will be in place at least until April 30.
From Montreal, Air Canada flights to Boston, New York (LaGuardia) and Bogota are suspended as part of this announcement.
Toronto and Vancouver are the other two cities that have seen thefts temporarily cut off.
