Elon Musk, one of Donald Trump's key donors and advisers, has temporarily settled in the territory of the president-elect's estate in Mar-a-Lago. Living in a rented cottage for $2,000 a day gives him unprecedented access to Trump and participation in the formation of his administration.
This is reported by The New York Times, citing sources.
Musk, who spent more than $250 million to support Trump during the election campaign, actively participates in staff meetings, is present during conversations with foreign leaders and regularly advises the president in his office. His staff is also involved in vetting candidates for key positions.
Musk's cottage, located a few hundred meters from the main house, has become another meeting point for influential people. For example, Musk attended Trump's dinner with Jeff Bezos, his business rival.
However, Musk's access to the president-elect has caused discontent among other Trump advisers. Some of them believe that the billionaire's influence is too great.
Elon Musk plans to remain at Mar-a-Lago until Trump's inauguration on January 20. After that, his presence at the White House may be more limited due to stricter access rules.
