With a wide margin against Democratic candidate Charlie Crist, DeSantis got close to 57 percent, compared to 42% for Crist – a difference of almost 15 percentage points – and many are already beginning to see him as a possible presidential candidate.

However, this Monday the former president invited everyone to be aware of his “important” announcement that will take place next November 15.

“I am going to make a big announcement on Tuesday, November 15 at Mar-a-Lago,” he told a cheering crowd at a rally in Vandalia, Ohio.

In his speech after the results were announced, DeSantis thanked the people for their support as well as that of the new voters who joined these elections.

“It is clear that in these elections we will have achieved a significant number of votes from people who might not have voted for me four years ago. And I want you to know that I am honored to have earned your trust and support during these four years!”, he stressed and remarked that “many Americans” have come to Florida because it is “the promised land” and “a ray of hope”.

The situation in 2022 contrasted sharply with the narrow victory he won four years ago, when he won the governorship by less than one percentage point, and they strengthen him as a political leader.
