After an attack by Ukrainian drones, the refinery in Tuapse stopped working

As a result of the night attack of Ukrainian drones on the refinery in Russian Tuapse on May 17, the installation for the production of liquefied petroleum gas was damaged. Because of this, the plant suspended its work.

RBK-Ukraine reports this with reference to Reuters.

“The absence of black smoke during the fire indicates the burning of fuel oil,” a Reuters source explained.

According to him, from a technical point of view, it is possible to bypass the liquefied gas installation and restart the refinery in the near future.

“The ZVG section can be bypassed and primary processing can be resumed. Part of the gas will be left in the oil until limit level of pressure of saturated steam, and let the rest of it for its own needs – to the factory furnaces,” added the interlocutor of the agency.

Drone attack on the refinery in Tuapse

We remind you, SBU and GUR today on the night of May 17, more than a hundred drones attacked the targets of the occupiers in Sevastopol, Tuapse, and Novorossiysk. We are talking about a seaport, an oil refinery, an oil terminal and a power substation.

In particular, the SBU hit the Tuapsin oil refinery with drones, which the Russians began to restore. However, after new explosions, repairs will have to be started anew.

Analysts claim that the strike on the oil refinery in Tuapse was demonstrative and indicates the lack of air defense in the Russians.
