Advent is a time of special reflection and spiritual growth.

Advent Prayer: Grace and Love Will Come to You and Your Loved Ones

In these few weeks of the year, we feel our longings intensely, and the liturgy of the Church leads us into the depths of these desires. Prayer plays a key role in building a relationship with God, so it is worth spending a moment to pray for grace and love, both for ourselves and for our loved ones.

How to Pray in Difficult Times?

It is not always easy to find the words, especially when we are angry with the Church or feel that prayer is not working for us. In such moments it is worth reaching for a simple, sincere prayer based on a psalm. Here is an example of a prayer you could say tonight:

Prayer for grace and love for you and your loved ones

Lord,

You know that I am not always happy to go to Your temple.
Sometimes I get angry about the way things are in my church, about what I hear there, about things that are beyond my control.
I want to leave you those moments in which I have to overcome my reluctance to come before you in the Eucharist.
I want to humbly ask you for the grace of such a relationship with you that I can always see you in the people I meet at mass.
So that I don't close my eyes to what is going wrong, but can see your presence right next to what is irritating, inconvenient, poorly thought out, harmful.

I want to come to Your temple to worship You.
Help me focus on You then.
Because Your presence brings peace to the heart and calm, wise solutions.

I ask You for peace for my community, for people faithful to You
and for those who have trouble with this faithfulness.
May peace and prosperity reign within our Church,
may love for You grow stronger
may everyone here gain the certainty of Your blessing,
that he is wanted and sufficient here.

I thank You that I have people around me who are close to me and are for me important,
You know those who are my family and my friends.
Be glorified in their lives!
I know how much good You can do in the life of every person
and it is precisely because I know You like this, my God,
I pray for peace, for good, for love
for all who are close to me.

Amen!

May this prayer be a support for you in building a deep relationship with God and help in your everyday life.
